This Tablao belongs to the Gargallo hotel group, has room for a hundred people and features live performances of Spanish regional and folkloric dances, sevillanas, rumbas, etc.
It is the "least flamenco" of all tablaos, though it is also the one that offers most fun: they feature well known Spanish rythms such as rumbas and sevillanas, more inviting to non-initiated audiences, who will be welcome to join in.

Tablao de Carmen
Tablao de Carmen is named after Carmen Amaya, a Catalan Gipsy bailaora (flamenco dancer) who debuted in 1929, performing for king Alfonso XIII, on the opening of the Spanish Village, an artificial village showcasing popular architecture from all over Spain built as an attraction for the 1929 World Fair.
Tablao de Carmen is located right inside the Spanish Village, an added advantage as entrance to the premises is included from 7 pm.
The shows, which last 75 minutes and feature renowned performers, combine a selection of different genres and styles, and alternatively highlight instrumental music, dance and singing.
The hall is arranged like a small theater with the tables around the stage and can accommodate 170 persons.

Los Tarantos
Tablao Los Tarantos offers a real alternative to traditional tablaos, which typically feature a lengthy show (generally over 75 min.) with a drink or a dinner at quite a considerable price.
If you just have a passing interest in Flamenco, or cannot afford the pricey shows at the conventional tablaos, this is your opportunity to enjoy Flamenco:
Los Tarantos is more like a club with live performances; and as it is competitively priced on the Barcelona club scene (€ 5.00 to get in, and drinks not overpriced), it also attracts local crowds, so you don't have that "tourist show" feeling.
Its location is also excellent: right on Plaça Reial, one of the liveliest and hottest spots by the lower end of the Ramblas.
Opening hours:
Tuesday to Saturday
Live Flamenco performances at:
20:30, 21:30 and 22:30H
Prices:
€ 5.00
(Drinks from € 3.00)
